Caline Englishman

Came across the schematic for this one over at FSB, and it's a pretty good marhally sounding OD/Distortion. Made by a company Caline, a Chinese company that sells direct. It's actually stupid cheap, to buy, seen them for sale $35usd new. You may be asking, "well if it's so cheap why spend time making a layout and build it myself?" The answer is simple, we can always improve upon it and use quality components. I mean really, who wants to waste money on something that made to be as cheap as possible.

  1. Caline pedals are great! I'd like to see the Sandstorm traced out, is it a Crunch Box clone? Sounds great anyway.

Actually, those Caline pedals are just as "cheap" as most people's DIY builds I see around the internet: alpha pots, film resistors, the usual blue 3PDT...

    1. Got to disagree with you on that one. There are varying grades of components, and board. That coupled with the time it takes to build, which is the highest cost. You really get what you pay for.

  10. I couldn't see IC3 on the veroboard. IC3 is LF347N in the description. Is LF347N IC2?

  12. Is it possible that this pedal is a copy quite close to Carl Martin Plexitone?

  13. Hi, anyone knows why you need to connect pin1(boost) of tc1044s to pin8(v+)? I tested it on veroboard and it provides -9 volts without this connection.
